Hello,
My name is Carolyn Matthews and I am a mature student studying Transpersonal Psychology at the Atlantic University in Virginia Beach. One of my courses was on the Near-Death Experience and NDE Survivors. Researching through the several books on this phenomenon and those who had gone through it, and how the NDE affected the survivors and their lives afterwards, I was moved by the fact that the survivors almost all knew that they had a mission to fulfil, but many of these did not know what their mission was. This mission is the soul’s mission, and some NDErs have told me that they have searched for years but not found what it is they need to do to fulfil this mission.
Practically all NDErs say they have received unconditional love and wish to spread unconditional love themselves, but some feel that there is something more that they need to do apart from this.
For my Master’s thesis I am designing a service project in the form of a free course for NDE survivors with a view to providing a course model which others can use to help NDErs to adjust to their changed perspective of life. The basis of my course is to guide participants through various exercises which will help them to access the true answers within themselves, and having found their personal ideal or plan, then to discover a way to channel that in order to bring it into the world around them, and fulfil their soul’s mission.
I have taught this course before to non-NDErs and it does bring a sense of direction and peace in knowing what one needs to do, and how one can go about it. However, I realise that NDErs require a different set of exercises as they are more aware in many ways and because many have developed extra-sensory abilities, all of which needs to be taken into consideration. Therefore I am currently researching for input as to how best to tailor this course, and am open to all suggestions.
The course will be given over six weeks with a lesson and homework each week, and individual attention as it is required. I shall be using transpersonal exercises, including dream-work, meditation, creative visualisation, intuition, journaling, and mythology.
If anyone can think of any other ideas, I am open to suggestion. As I am aiming this course at the level of NDErs’ thinking, I would appreciate it if you could take the time to have a look at the questionnaire. However, this is not a pre-requisite for taking the course, it is only a way for me to figure out what people expect from the course, and what their outlook is like.
